TOM EVERT’S FIGURATIVE ART

Dancers to your places
Spiralina
The Greeter

I have enjoyed a world-class career as a dancer, but my art beginnings were as a visual art student in high school for which I was encouraged through winning a medal from the Graphic Arts Society. I also loved sports as a youth and then through my involvement in art I found that as a dancer I could be both an athlete and an artist.

I received Fine Arts degrees in both Painting and Dance from Ohio University. I have enjoyed an award-winning career choreographing dances and teaching. My work ranges from highly produced theatrical works to creating educational programs in schools. My sculptural work is primarily figurative, and celebrates the expression of the human spirit through representational and abstract approaches to the figure.

My primary sculptural medium is wood which is either carved from full sections of tree limbs or is formed from a piece that is found in nature and may already have an expressive gesture from which a piece is further developed. The works are renderings of dancers, abstraction, devotion, and nature. Decades of tours and out of town work were always accompanied by my drawing gear capturing responses of the dancing figures in my company.

My art business has been designated as a “Trusted Art Seller” with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
